Yoko Nagatomo, Head of our firm’s Translation Department, contributed an article to the August 2026 issue of the Japan Intellectual Property Translation Journal. Based on a research report published by the Japan Patent Office, the article examines the role of intellectual property translation in the AI era and the expertise translators need to ensure the reliability of documents defining legal rights, from legal and institutional perspectives such as clarity of the scope of rights, the public notice function, protection of third parties, and continuity with judicial practice.
